Procedure Information
General information on obtaining a quotation from us, Council requirements, our delivery procedure, and commissioning your treatment system for use.
How to go about it with the minimum of fuss
IT'S AS EASY AS ONE, TWO, THREE
ONE Quotation Procedure
Geotech Engineer's Site Evaluation Report Your local Council will require that a report is submitted, generally known as a Site & Soil report (or Effluent Disposal Site Evaluation Report) and carried out by a qualified Geotechnical Engineer. Some Councils offer this service themselves.
Basically the engineer will look at your block and soil type, the number of bedrooms in your new home, any water-reduction devices etc to determine the level of treatment (Secondary or Advanced Secondary) and the method of disposal of the treated wastewater (surface spray or subsurface). He will then prepare a report based upon his findings, including an Effluent Disposal Plan to show the location of the disposal area and the method of disposal.
You will need to submit the Report to your local Council as part of your application. We will also need to see the Report to confirm any interim quotation that we may have provided you.
Once the disposal field has been constructed, another form will be required by Council - Form 8 Notice of Compliance. This form is completed by us and then forwarded to your Geotechnical Engineer for their completion and return. We will then forward the completed form to Council.
Your Council will also require that you submit the following forms:
-- Form 1 Application for Compliance Assessment; -- Form 2 Proposed Plumbing & Drainage & Onsite Work; -- Form 7 Notice of Responsible Person
You will need to complete and submit Forms 1 and 2 yourself. Form 7 will be completed and submitted to Council by us.
TWO Delivery Procedure
Should you accept our quotation, we will schedule delivery of the treatment system (and any other products forming part of your package) as close as possible to your nominated date. You may prefer that we speak directly to your builder or plumber at this stage, which we are happy to do (it can in fact be easier for all concerned).
On the scheduled day of delivery, we will arrive at your block, often quite early in the morning, and excavation will begin.
The treatment system will be placed in the ground and usually the disposal field will also be constructed. If you have purchased a water tank in your package, then the water tank will also be placed in the ground.
Once the treatment system is fully placed and ready, we will fill it with water. A load of water will also be placed in the water tank, if supplied.
You will need to arrange for your plumber and electrician to connect your dwelling to the treatment system (and water tank and water pump, if applicable). We do not perform or arrange Plumbing or Electrical work.
Water Pump delivery (if applicable)
If your package includes a water pump, we do not generally provide it to you until you are ready for it. This is so that the manufacturer's warranty begins as close as possible to the time that you actually start using the pump. Of course, if you do want the water pump supplied at the same time as the water tank, we can easily arrange it.
If you do elect to take our advice and wait for your water pump as above, then when you are almost ready for it to be delivered you must give us five working days notice to organise the courier to ship the pump directly to your nominated address, As this is a courier service, a signature will be required upon delivery.
THREE Commissioning the System for Use
Your treatment system will need to be commissioned before it is used. Depending upon the type of system you purchased, it may need to be fitted with vital components before it can be operated.
You must contact us at least 5 working days before you require the system to be commissioned for use. We will then schedule the work to be completed within 5 working days.
Once the system has been commissioned we will provide you and your local Council with a copy of the Commissioning Certificate. Your Council will require the Certificate before a plumbing final can be called for.
Your treatment system will also be scheduled for its maintenance checks. Depending upon the type of system you purchased, maintenance checks range from quarterly to annually.
Our Exclusive Handover & Owner's Guide
We believe in arming you with the important and relevant information that users of a treatment system should know. You will be provided with both an electronic and hard copy of our informative Owner's Guide.
As part of our dedication to provide excellent customer service, we offer an onsite handover to each home owner. This is where we meet with you at your new home, show you through your treatment system, explain its correct operation and answer any queries you might have.
